Nominations are Still Open!
Tora and The Evilest Girl Child have done a fantastic job of working together to create some highly amusing and well written drabbles (Employee of the Month) and To Save an Assassin. What’s particularly interesting about them, is the fact that they share an account, and write together.
What’s your best fic (in your opinion)?
TEGC:Definitely the drabble... I think the Mall Santa one.
Tora:Yes, the drabble story. Employee of the Month is awesome.
What’s your favorite fic (someone else’s)?
TEGC:I don't know, there are just too many to choose from. I think maybe Thousandfurs.
Tora:Hmm...It's hard to decide. I guess the one I'm thinking of right off the top on my head would be The Most Unbelievable Blue Eyes. I just love songfics!
Is there a WIP (work in progress) fic you’d like to recommend?
TEGC:As I said before, there are just too many choices, probably Selfless.
Tora:Hmm...lately I haven't really read any WIPs. Well actually I have, I just can't remember the titles...I guess I like that one where Artemis turns into a girl for a few days. It's funny. Last time I checked the author still needs to add the last chapter.
Who is your favorite fanfic author?
TEGC:Another Lone Ranger
Tora:Hmm...I guess anyone who has written more than thirty fics. You guys are troopers. ^_^
What Pairings do you ship?
TEGC:Artemis/Holly
Tora:Pretty much anyone. It really depends on the whole fic itself.
What’s your favorite genre to read and/or write?
TEGC:Romance/Action/Adventure
Tora:Humor, Romance, Action/Adventure, and Angst.
How did you find Artemis Fowl?
TEGC:The library, duh....
Tora:Well...my story's more interesting. It was in fourth grade...I remember seeing the boy I had a crush on (I'm a girl...just to let you know...) reading the second book in the series, so I was like: "If he's reading it then it must be good!" That afternoon after school I dug through my pile of books, (I didn't have a bookshelf at the time. (Come to think of it even though now I have a bookshelf, somehow I still have a pile of books on the floor in my room…)) and retrieved my copy of “Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident” that my mom had bought me for Christmas several weeks before.
I got through the first chapter and my reaction was: "This series....it's so....BORING!" So I put the book down to never ever read again, until a few months later when I finally picked it up again, after reading the first book and becoming addicted to it. ^_^
How did you get started writing fanfiction?
TEGC:It was all my friend's fault...
Tora:Heh, heh, heh. Yes, I started TEGC on fanfiction. The way I started is a longer story though. Wow. I always have long stories. Anyway...It all started at the end of the school year.
The librarian from some far off library came to visit our school to get the kids to read over the summer. She handed out these lists on green paper of books we'd might be interested in. (I think I still have my list.) So she went through each book on the list, and when she came to the Artemis Fowl series she told us the website was recently updated. So I was like "I must see this new website!"
On AF's official website I found a link to artemis-fowl.com, which is an AF fansite. And on that site I found a link to Criminality, which is an AF fanfiction site. I literaly became obsessed with that site...and from there I found out about fanfiction.net. Over the summer I basically only read fanfiction, and finally, in like early August, I created my personal account. Then I posted my first story, which I still write. And that's how it started!
How did you two started writing together?
TEGC:Boredom! We were at her house, and we were like: "ffnet is so awesome", "yeah", "lets get an account!"
Tora:Yeah. Sadly, I have to admit, there's nothing really to do at my house so I was like: Let's do a fanfiction account together. And she was like: Ok! That's how it happened...
How often do you try to update your fics?
TEGC:Whenever I think of something, really. I try for one a week, but that obviously doesn't work.
Tora:I do try for once a week. I've pretty much planned what to write for the next few months. All I need to do is type it.
Are you involved in any other parts of the fandom, like fansites or forums?
TEGC:None, really. I have an account on mediaminer.com, but it doesn't have anything yet.
Tora:None for me too. I've only really been writing for a few months now. No past experience whatsoever.
Do you have any plans for future fics?
TEGC:I want to do one where Artemis meets the Goddess of the Hunt
Tora:I'd like to do a sequel to Employee of the Month. Or at least several other drabble series.
What’s one area of your writing which you want to improve on?
TEGC:Everywhere. There are so many things that I want to write, but am just too embarrassed to... Let’s settle for: I have a sadistic imagination.
Tora:Come on TEGC! You can write those stories! I won't mind. And besides...no one knows who you really are...I'd like to improve in my typing skills. If I could type as fast as TEGC then I'd get some real work done!
What other interests do you have?
TEGC:Acrylic Painting, Reading
Tora:Drawing, reading, talking online, a lot of things. I just can't type them all.
In 50 words or less, say something to the rest of the fandom!
TEGC:Thanks for being so kind about everything. At first, I thought we were just going to get flamed, but it turned out that you guys really liked us. That's all I really have to say.
Tora:Yeah. I love all my reviewers. They're awesome. I really expected to get some flames after posting chapters 5 and 7. But they were cool about it. I guess just thanks for being so supportive.
