Nominations are Still Open!

The Orion Awards News

Gus

Four months ago, The White Lily and Dim Aldebaran decided to make a new, more appealing, site design for the Orion Awards. In that time period, they have worked quietly and diligently to get the site design ready for October 1st, Orion's first anniversary.

Yes, Orion's first anniversary just passed. A little over a year ago, October 1st, the Orion Awards were officially launched. In that year, we faced many hardships with unreliable servers, and we had to change servers several times.

With a more reliable server now, and a new site design to go with it, we hope that the following year will go more smoothly.

In addition to aesthetic changes, The White Lily, Dim Aldebaran, and Annoying Schizoid went through all the content pages to reorganize and update them. The entire nominations list has been overhauled, and now contains the reasons the fics were nommed. The results page for the 2001-2005 nominees, shortlisters, and winners has been combined into a single page for quicker browsing.

I want to commend and thank The White Lily and Dim Aldebaran for the hard work they have put in these last three months to meet the deadline of October 1st. Thanks!

The forums are just as active and prosperous as ever. Since September, we have gotten over ten new members, bringing our total up to 68 registered members at the time of writing. In addition to this, our forum has over 5100 posts in over 200 topics, all thanks to our amazing, contributing members.

To keep up with our skyrocketing activity, we have asked The Humble Mosquito and Dim Alderan to join the moderating team. we am confident in their abilities, and we are sure that they will perform superbly. Congratulations to The Humble Mosquiteo and Dim Aldebaran!

And that's all the news for this month! Thanks to everybody for making the Orion Awards a great place to be!
