Issue #3

October 29th, 2006

Happy Birthday, Artemis!

EterahHello Everyone!

Welcome to the 3rd issue of The Observatory!

This extremely belated issue was definately worth the wait. And wait! Look! There's a new person writing this teaser message, so that must mean something extraordinary has happened. The Observatory has a new editor, and that one would be me, Eterah. The Humble Mosquito has decided to step down as editor for personal reasons. We would also like to welcome Annoying Schizoid, who has agreed to be my Assistant Editor. She's really awesome, and is one of the reasons the zine actually makes sense.

I guess I should start by telling you something about myself, but if you really want to know, you can check out my bio on the Orion Awards offical site. But really, I would like to thank all of my new friends at the Orion Awards Forums, especially Dim Aldebaron, The White Lily, Annoying Schizoid, Black Knight, Gus, Blue Yeti, and many others who have supported me through the last three weeks and has helped me get The Observatory ready to print.

I would also like to announce that The Observatory will be bimonthly for now on, because monthly is not only a strain on our columnists, but the next 6 months or so will be very huge for us. November is NaNoWriMo, which our feature article is about, and judging for the Orion Awards begins in January; which means all of the judges and judge trainees will be reading through scores of stories, discussing them, and of course judging them.

We would like to thank all who have come back for another issue of The Observatory and if this is your first time here, hi! We hope you stay awhile!

Feedback, comments, questions, and submissions are all sent to the orionobservatory@gmail.com or you can head on over to the Orion Awards Forums and place your feedback there! All feedback is always welcome!

Eterah,
Executive Editor of The Observatory
