Inside The Lost Colony

Ten thousand years ago, the humans and the fairies battled for the supremacy. When they were defeated, the fairies all agreed to hide themselves underground. All except the demons. With the help of their warlocks, they created a spell to move their island outside time so that they could recover and rearm uninterrupted. But instead they were all trapped in Limbo and the only thing they had to sustain themselves was an ever-increasing hatred of humans.

Only now the warlocks' spell is breaking down and demons are popping up all over the world in a pattern that even Foaly can't crack. But Artemis has. The fairies need to know when and where the next appearance will occur, so a covert division of the LEP - Section 8 - enlists the help of the biggest Artemis Fowl expert belowground... struggling private detective Holly Short.

Except they're not the only ones chasing demons - someone else has worked out the pattern. Another child prodigy. A girl. She's determined to get herself a fairy no matter the price, and she's hired a team of bodyguards and criminals to help her do it. Except some of her new employees have agendas of their own concerning their supernatural targets. It's up to the old team to stop them all.

And Artemis has one other little problem: he's just hit puberty.
