How are the People's Choices different from the Orions?
The People's Choices are essentially popularity votes, which will be held
through the polls in the Orion Awards forums. Anyone can vote.
How does the shortlisting/winning for the People's Choice Awards
work?
After the fics are nominated, they will be placed in polls, which will
close the day before the PC shortlists are announced. The fics with the
most votes in this "first round" will be placed in the shortlist, and
voting will continue in a new poll that will then determine the winners.
The number of fics in the shortlist varies. Typically, it will be within
five to eight, inclusive.
How many times can I vote?
You can vote once for each poll.
When will the PC votes be closed?
Consult the schedule for the dates.
May I ask my friends to vote for a work of mine, or a friend's? Can I
vote for my own fic?
You may, but it is not recommended. Asking your friends to vote for your
fic (or voting for your own fic) in any category, People's Choice or not,
is fine but keep in mind that we want all the polls to be as fair as
possible.
